Thin, light and with a sense that space is very large. That seemed to us the new Samsung SSD when we have seen a live presentation. The device is a portable external drive that uses SSD technology and aims that when it comes to consider an external storage unit, may have the option to ensure a great experience in speed thanks to SSD technology, just as we already do regularly with storing our laptop.

Samsung SSD Portable

The Samsung SSD delivers speeds sequential read / write speeds up to 450 megabytes per second (MB / s) using the USB 3.0 interface, which will be required on the computer to approach them theoretically. An example: a film of 10 GB would be transferred to this record in 27 seconds, almost four times less than with a classic HDD. If our current team only has USB 2.0 ports, no problem will be supported, but not achieve the same transfer speeds.

The model Samsung SSD features an intuitive interface for configuring the protection of the unit, which is based on the AES 256-bit encryption. Another advantage of having an SSD is that, with no moving parts, the disc can withstand drops and extreme temperatures, situations where the unit protects itself.

The design is one of the sections that boasts Samsung, and not without reason. The model we have had the opportunity to get our hands is very thin and compact, the size of a business card, and with good black piano finish and laser engraving. It weighs almost ridiculous: 28 grams, actually transmitting the sensation of holding a piece of metal hollow.

The Samsung SSD T1 Portable units, which run on both Windows and Mac natively, are available with a capacity of 250 GB, 500 GB and 1TB new model, which goes for 679 euros.
