The future laptops will be more thin and narrow. This new aesthetics has been picked up by Google for their Chromebooks, so it's no surprise that its new patent contemplates a keyboard without spacebar.

without spacebar laptop

The patent registered by the search engine aims to "a keyboard without room for a space bar," reports Quartz. With this, Google intends to squeeze the surface intended to move the cursor of the laptop, also called trackpad.

But, how would the spaces? Google will design a series of sensors placed below the trackpad so that the user can choose between using the cursor or enter the space. Momentum will be a signal of a space, while several repeated beatings while moving the cursor will be a click away.

The achievement of patents is not synonymous with an immediate progress in upcoming products. That is, it does not mean that Google incorporate this technology into their Chromebooks.

Apple is one of the companies fully aware of the size and comfort of their laptops. His latest MacBook is smaller and with the keys closer together. In particular, the signature device is 12 inches tall and weighs 900 grams.
