Google today announced the launch of the collections, a new feature of Google Plus that allows users to share videos, links and images in different boards category. In many ways, Collections is very much similar to Pinterest. The content is shown on the cards and users can choose different boards to publish that content to. Users can choose to publish texts, links, videos, images, events and polls.

Unlike Pinterest, however, the Google+ Collections does not have much in the way of discovery of images and other content. That is, except for video content, which Google allows you to pull directly from YouTube.

Thus, the collection feels a bit like Facebook - the power of all your favorite content and links that can be viewed by your friends and followers

Google has largely failed to obtain its social networking platform, Google+, with the aim of significantly. This is another attempt to make a relevant platform to participate socially in the web tool.
