Some users of mobile iPhone App in Facebook are now offering an option "Add a Link" when published status updates. After selecting the button, users can enter keywords and view the search results for the listing of articles on a given topic that have already been shared on Facebook. A company spokesperson said that the choice is simply a pilot by now.

The function is a further step in the continued expansion of Facebook of the uses of its enormous treasury of more than one trillion messages from users indexed. Last year, the company made it easier for users to use key words to raise old posts on any topic, but the results often appear at random or in seemingly random order. This new functionality seems to provide a more precise application of the search function of Facebook, focusing on the links to other online content.

The option "Add a link", if fully deployed, could pose a threat to Google. If Facebook can keep people within its walls, even when they are in search of stories, you will have more opportunities to have them engage with more content, including advertising in the News Feed. The company can also use the function to push people toward the exchange of the types of articles "high quality" that Facebook gives a preference in the RSS News on the images of memes and similar content.
