The new version is available through .apk file from the WhatsApp's web application. Google Play has not yet reached the final version but it certainly will be available in the few hours.
The application has not changed in functionality, although design. The bottom bar is gone and now replaces a kind of snack like something out of a comic book. The application icons and entire interface has also been simplified and now look more clean and consistent with the overall design of Android.
