Microsoft today declared the general availability of Skype for Business. The company committed, the organizations who currently using Lync 2013 in Office 2013 will be updated to Skype for Business and the Lync Online in Office 365 service will be automatically updated to Skype for Business Online.
Microsoft mentioned in the announcement, the Skype for Business client is now rolling out as part of the April monthly update for Office 2013 and Skype for Business Online is now rolling out to Office 365 customers worldwide. The company also expects that the rolling out segment of 'Skype for Business Online' will be finished by the end of May, 2015.
At this moment, if you are using 'Lync Online in Office 365', so you have to wait till coming weeks to get new user experience of Skype for Business. Microsoft know that you need some time to get ready, that's why the company provided the ability for administrators to switch between Skype for Business and the traditional Lync user interface.
The company built interface of Skype for Business based on the familiar Skype experience that more than 300 million people use every month to connect with friends and family. With Skype for Business, you will be capable to search and connect with anyone in the Skype network who are inside or outside your organization.
